Fils d'Oscar II, Gustave V descendait par sa mère de Gustave IV. Il se conforma durant tout son règne aux règles de la monarchie parlementaire et contribua à maintenir la Suède en dehors des deux guerres mondiales.
The son of Oscar II, Gustav V was descended through his mother from Gustav IV. Throughout his reign, he adhered to the rules of parliamentary monarchy and helped keep Sweden out of both world wars.
