Le semeur représenté à l’avers est inspiré d’un tableau du peintre slovène Ivan Grohar (1867-1911)“Le semeur de graines”. Celui-ci sème 13 étoiles qui rajoutées aux 12 du listel forme 25 étoiles, rappelant les 25 pays menbres de l’Union Européenne au moment de l’entrée de la Slovénie.
