SICILY - Entella

(Ve - fourth century BC)

City of western Sicily near the rock Entella, near the Elimi territory. The city was founded by the eponymous hero Entello. The city enjoyed a certain importance in the fifth and fourth centuries BC front back into anonymity. For a period, the city was occupied by Campanian mercenaries between 342 and 339 BC.
