Commentary
Cet avers est tout à fait anormal et différent de ceux que l’on trouve usuellement dans la série, où le buste de Louis XV est agé. Ce jeton fait partie d’une émission de la série datant de la jeunesse de Louis XV ce qui explique que la date de sa mort ne soit pas indiquée au revers. À noter aussi le fait que cette frappe existe aussi bien en cuivre rouge (cf fjt_05550) qu’en laiton, ce t exemplaire, laisse penser que la série inaugurale fut frappée dans ces deux métaux.

This token is part of an issue of the series dating from the youth of Louis XV which explains why the date of his death is not indicated on the reverse. Also note the fact that this strike exists in both red copper (see fjt_05550) and brass, this example suggests that the inaugural series was struck in these two metals
