Commentary

Cette rare monnaie à la rouelle se rattache tout logiquement à son statère unité, mais il semble que les quarts de ce type exact soient très rares et manquent à la plupart des ouvrages.
This rare coin with the wheel is logically linked to its unit stater, but it seems that quarters of this exact type are very rare and are missing from most works

Historical background

SEQUANI - HELVETII, Unspecified (Currently Switzerland)

(2nd - 1st century BC)

These two peoples were neighbors and a certain number of coins, particularly staters and quarter staters of electrum from the first century BC, are simultaneously attributed to them. The coin found in Avenches (east of Lake Neuchâtel), of a so-called sequana coinage, illustrates this phenomenon. Gossip of the La Tène type also belongs to this group!.
