A gauche et à droite, les attributs de la réussite des deux nations ; pour la France : les Sciences et les arts, pour l'Espagne : un bouclier où est rappelé la découverte de l'Amérique en 1491 et une palette portant les noms de ses trois grands peintres : MURILLO - VELASQUEZ et ZURBARAN.
