SAVOY - DUCHY OF SAVOY - LOUIS

(1440-1465)

He is the youngest son of Duke Amédée VIII and Marie-Claude de Bourgogne. He was born in 1413. In 1431, following the premature death of his brother, Amadeus VIII named him crown prince. In February 1433, he married, in Nicosia, Anne de Lusignan, daughter of the King of Cyprus and Jerusalem. He became Duke of Savoy in 1440, after his father's abdication. He died on January 29, 1465 in Lyon. His son Amédée IX succeeded him.
