Obverse description : Buste couronné et drapé d'Anne à droite vu de trois quarts en avant avec la petite couronne.

Obverse translation : (Par la grâce de Dieu, Anne impératrice et autocrate de toute la Russie).

Reverse legend : (LÉGENDE CYRILLIQUE) 1738.

Reverse description : Aigle bicéphale surmontée de trois couronnes impériales ; dans ses serres le globe et le sceptre ; sur sa poitrine l'écusson aux armes de Moscou (saint Georges à cheval, à droite). Autour de l'aigle la grande chaîne de l'Ordre de Saint-André.

Reverse translation : (Monnaie rouble, 1738).

Commentary

Anne (7/02/1693-28/10/1740) est la fille d'Ivan V (1682-1689), le demi-frère de Pierre le Grand. Elle succéda à Pierre II (1727-1730). Elle avait épousé Frédéric-Guillaume, duc de Courlande.
Pierre Von Biron, duc souverain de Courlande, était marié à mère Anna Dorothea ; leur quatrième fille, Dorothée de Courlande était dotée tout à la fois d'une beauté fascinante, d'une intelligence remarquable, d'un tempérament ardent et d'une profonde culture..
Anna (7/02/1693-28/10/1740) was the daughter of Ivan V (1682-1689), Peter the Great's half-brother. She succeeded Peter II (1727-1730). She had married Frederick William, Duke of Courland. Peter Von Biron, sovereign Duke of Courland, was married to Mother Anna Dorothea; their fourth daughter, Dorothea of Courland, was endowed with fascinating beauty, remarkable intelligence, a fiery temperament, and profound culture.
