UNITED LIBERTY OF BURGUNDY, BURGONDES
(End sixth century)
According to J. Lafaurie in the catalog of the Museum of Lyon, during this period 550/575 still poorly defined, were minted in large quantities of triens whose types are derived minted in Italy by the Byzantine Ravenna currencies, taken at Ostrogoths in May 540. The strikes were initially quite close to their prototypes: the right, diademed bust right, closed diadem behind the head by a node with two pendants, wearing a cloak of fairly realistic style, the back, going to Victory right, bust face and head turned to the left. It takes the right hand a crown with two pendants, left hand a globus cruciger.
