Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais, irrégulier, parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait janiforme de style fin élégant. Revers finement détaillé. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés et une petite oxydation de surface au droit sur le visage de Janus

Fourré. Poids très léger. Cet exemplaire présente la particularité d’avoir la légende de l’exergue en relief, placée dans un cadre linéaire, variété beaucoup plus rare avec le A ouvert.

The beginning of the 3rd century AC is marked by the resumption of hostilities against the Samnites. The Third Samnite War ends in 290 AC Rome emerges victorious. In 280 AC, the King of Epirus, Pyrrhus I, arrived in Italy with his army and 20 war elephants. In spite of numerous victories of Pyrrhus, the Romans end up winning this war in 272 AC Following these various victories, the domination of Rome will crescendo on the Italian lands. In 264 AC begins the first Punic war which ends in 241 AC to the advantage of Rome. Carthage must then pay a heavy price and abandon Corsica, Sicily and Sardinia.
