Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale avec les grènetis complets. Très beau portrait de Pupien. Petite faiblesse de frappe au revers. Une fine patine grise recouvre l’exemplaire

Reverse legend : PAX - PVBLICA.

Reverse description : Pax (la Paix) drapée assise à gauche, tenant une branche d’olivier de la main droite et un sceptre de la main gauche.

Reverse translation : “Pax Publica”, (La Paix publique).

Commentary

Rubans de type 3. Sur cet exemplaire, le portait ne semble pas cuirassé, mais seulement drapé.

According to the new chronology set up by A. Chastagnol and M. Christol, they are finally both assassinated by the Praetorians between the end of April and the beginning of May.
