Très bel exemplaire, légèrement décentré au revers. Superbe portrait de Jupiter. Belle patine grise de collection avec des reflets dorés et bleutés

Obverse translation : “Senatus Consulto”, (avec l’accord du Sénat).


Reverse description : Junon Sospita, combattant à droite, coiffée de la peau de chèvre, brandissant une javeline de la main droite et tenant un bouclier de la main gauche ; dans le champ à droite, un serpent.
Reverse translation : “Lucius Procilius Filius”, (Lucius Procilius fils).

Lucius Procilius seems to be the historian, a contemporary of Cicero. He could be identified with the tribune of the plebs of 56 BC, accused by Clodius two years later of violence and condemned.
