Obverse description : Buste radié, drapé et cuirassé de Postume à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A).

Obverse translation : "Imperator Cæsar Postumus Pius Felix Augustus", (L’empereur césar Postume pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse

Reverse legend : DIANAE LV-CIF-ERE (SIC !).

Reverse description : Diane, tête radiée marchant à droite, portant des deux mains une torche allumée, le carquois sur l’épaule; à ses pieds à droite, une biche.

Reverse translation : “Dianae Luciferæ”, (À Diane qui apporte la lumière).

Commentary

Rubans de type 3. Ptéryges bouletées sous le paludamentum. Type avec LV-CIF-ERE au lieu de LVCI-FERAE. C’est l’un des antoniniens les plus rares du règne de Postume et c’est la deuxième fois que nous le présentons à la vente et à la première avec cette césure de légende de revers particulière. Manquait dans ROME XXIX.
Type 3 ribbons. Balled pteryges under the paludamentum. Type with LV-CIF-ERE instead of LVCI-FERAE. This is one of the rarest Antoninians from the reign of Postumus and this is the second time we have presented it for sale and the first with this particular reverse legend caesura. Missing in ROME XXIX
