Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale et irrégulier, un peu court sur la légende de revers. Portrait de toute beauté. Joli revers de style fin où le visage de Postume se distingue. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets mordorés

Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Portrait particulier et énigmatique. Antoninien à dater après 266 plutôt qu’entre 263 et 265.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
