(1861-1889)

Louis I (1838-1889) is the son of Maria II and Ferdinand II. He is also the brother of Peter V whom he succeeded in 1861. He married in 1862 Maria Pia, daughter of Victor Emmanuel II of Italy. His son Charles I (1863-1908) succeeded him in 1889.
