Luís Fróis (1532-1597) est un prêtre jésuite. En 1548, il arrive à la mission jésuite de Goa dont le supérieur est François-Xavier. En 1563, il débarque au Japon où il deviendra l’un des premiers japonologues. Il y rédige un traité historique “Histoire du Japon”.
