John II Casimir Vasa (1690-1672) was the son of Sigismund Vasa, King of Poland and a Swedish-Polish aristocrat. In 1648, he succeeded Władysław IV Vasa and was elected King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. In 1668, following a series of setbacks and a rebellion, he was forced to abdicate in favor of Michał Wiśniowiecki..
