Le thème du coq vigilant prend directement la suite du thème de la grue vigilante, il suffit de constater que la patte est également levée et la position est la même. Il faut croire que la grue fut jugée trop aristocratique pour une administration plébéienne. Le jeu de mot entre le nom du type et celui du graveur est certainement involontaire.
