Très jolie monnaie frappée sur flan très légèrement décentré. Quelques faiblesses et une fine usure régulière. Patine grise

Commentary

Ce type de drachme est très rare ; pour ce type PII B “à la tête aquitanique” mais sans la croisette bouletée au droit sur la joue, les auteurs de l'article de la RN 1996 ont étudié 14 monnaies. L’analyse métallique donne presque 90% d’argent et moins de 8% de cuivre.
Pour ces drachmes, le Numéraire celtique recense pourtant pas moins de 40 drachmes (sans distinction de coiffure) dont 3 à Bourges, 12 à la BN et 7 à Nantes. Le Nouvel Atlas défend fort justement le travail de D. Nash sur ces séries ; cette drachme correspond à la var. 1 de la classe II “à la tête aquitanique et à la main”.
This type of drachma is very rare; for this type PII B “with the aquitanic head” but without the balled cross right on the cheek, the authors of the RN 1996 article studied 14 coins. Metal analysis gives almost 90% silver and less than 8% copper. For these drachmas, the Celtic numerary nevertheless lists no less than 40 drachmas (without distinction of hairstyle) including 3 in Bourges, 12 at the BN and 7 in Nantes. Le Nouvel Atlas rightly defends the work of D. Nash on these series; this drachma corresponds to the var. 1 of class II “with Aquitanic head and hand”
