Exemplaire sur un un tout petit flan bien centré avec le grènetis visibles au droit. Belle tête de Tyché. Joli revers. Très belle patine vert olive clair

Commentary
Très beau portrait de style “grec”. C’est la plus petite monnaie divisionnaire grecque frappée pour Arados correspondant à l’hemitetartemorion.

PHOENICIA - ARADOS
(3rd - 1st century BC)
Arados had entered the Seleucid orbit after the battle of Ipsos in 301 BC. The city emancipated itself from this tutelage in 259 BC. Arados then dates its coins from this new era. Under the reign of Alexandre I Bala, it destroyed Marathus, its neighbor and old enemy. From this date, the city issued a very important civic coinage (137-45 AC.) which was to last until the Caesarean period..
