Commentary

La médaille est composée en deux parties, un jeton en cuivre doré d’un diamètre de 19 mm, une autre partie en bois tourné, recouverte sur l’extérieur d’une bande laiton portant une inscription en hollandais se traduisant par : “à ce jour exactement 50 ans sont accomplis et cette médaille nous en garde le souvenir. Nous ne pouvons pas nous offrir de l’or mais l’amour nous a tout dore”.
The medal is made up of two parts, a gilded copper token with a diameter of 19 mm, another part made of turned wood, covered on the outside with a brass band bearing an inscription in Dutch which translates as: “to this day exactly 50 years have been completed and this medal keeps us in memory of it. We cannot afford gold but love has gilded us all.”
