Pièce commémorative circulante. Cette pièce célèbre l’architecture et les architectes, tant anciens qu’actuels, néerlandais.
Pour déterminer quels noms d’architectes apparaissent sur l’avers et leur rang, le créateur du design, Stani Michiels, a pris pour référence les moteurs de recherche internet.
Pour mettre en valeur le fait que de nombreux architectes néerlandais ont également publié des ouvrages spécialisés, ceux-ci illustrent le revers.
On retrouve sur cette pièce le symbole du programme des émissions communes à plusieurs états-membres “EUROPA”. Pour 2008 le thème retenu par le Programme des émissions communes est “L’héritage européen”..

To determine which architects' names appear on the obverse and their rank, the designer, Stani Michiels, used internet search engines as a reference. To highlight the fact that many Dutch architects have also published specialist works, these are featured on the reverse. This coin features the symbol of the joint issuance programme of several member states, “EUROPA.” For 2008, the theme chosen by the Joint Issuing Programme is “European Heritage.”
