Ce jeton a du être commandé par Paparel, Trésorier des Guerres, pour le service du nombre considérable d'employés militaires chargés de sa comptabilité On trouve d'ailleurs peu de jetons de fabrique française sous son service mais beaucoup de jetons allemands L'entrée des jetons allemands était interdite en France à l'époque mais Paparel autorisa apparement la fraude pour ces jetons que l'on considérait comme banaux.
This token must have been ordered by Paparel, Treasurer of the Wars, for the service of the considerable number of military employees responsible for his accounting. We find few tokens of French manufacture under his service but many German tokens. The entry of German tokens was prohibited in France at the time but Paparel apparently authorized fraud for these tokens which were considered banal.
