Reverse description : Concordia (la Concorde) drapée assise à gauche, tenant une patère de la main droite et une double corne d’abondance de la main gauche.

Poids léger. Le prix en francs or au XIXe siècle représentait celui d’un aureus.

Wife of Severus Alexander

Little information is available on Empress Orbiane. She married Alexander Severus in 225 but, having displeased the august's mother, she would eventually be banished to Africa. It is interesting to note the doubling of the G of CONCORDIA AVGG on certain reverse legends. Such a doubling would seem to indicate that Orbiane received important powers, likely to justify the jealousy of Julia Mamée.
