Historical background

ORANGE - ORANGE PRINCIPALITY - RAYMOND IV

(1340-1393)

Orange often imitated mints its neighbors or even much further afield. The king was often criticized for princes, prohibiting the movement of species of the principality in the kingdom. On the death of Raymond IV, without direct heir, the principality passed in the house of Chalon with John I (1399-1412).
