Commentary

Le Traité de Waitangi est signé le 6 février 1840. Il fait de la Nouvelle Zélande une colonie et garantit les droits des Maoris. Le jour de Waitangi (Waitangi Day) est le jour de la fête nationale.
The Treaty of Waitangi was signed on 6 February 1840. It established New Zealand as a colony and guaranteed the rights of the Maori. Waitangi Day is a national holiday.
