Exemplaire sur un flan large avec les grènetis visibles à l’usure importante. Belle tête de Néron. Joli revers. Patine noire légèrement granuleuse

Reverse description : Securitas (la Sécurité) assise à droite, soutenant sa tête de son bras droit et tenant un sceptre court de la gauche ; devant un autel décoré contre lequel est posé une torche.
Reverse translation : “Securitas Augusti”, (La Sécurité de l’auguste).
Commentary
Rubans de type 3. La pointe du cou avec l’extrémité qui semble ornée d’un globule qui pointe vers le bas pourrait laisser présager une attribution à l’atelier de Lyon. Semble complètement inédit et non recensé. Manque à tous les ouvrages consultés. Cette légende de droit n’a pas été utilisée normalement à Lyon avec ce type de revers. Nous pourrions avoir affaire à un hybride.
Type 3 ribbons. The tip of the neck, with the end seemingly adorned with a downward-pointing globule, could suggest an attribution to the Lyon workshop. It appears to be completely unpublished and unrecorded. Missing from all consulted works. This legal legend was not normally used in Lyon with this type of reverse. We could be dealing with a hybrid.

The monetary reform of 64 made it possible to restore the finances of the state while making the inhabitants of the Empire bear the cost of these. This year 64 is marked by the great fire of Rome and its consequences, including the persecution against the Christians of the city. The following year, it is the discovery of the conspiracy of Pison, the death of Seneca and Lucain. In 66, Tiridates was enthroned King of Armenia in Rome. Nero then goes to Greece where he performs on stage and proclaims "The freedom of Greece". The excesses of the emperor cause at the beginning of the year 68 a wave of discontent which culminates with the revolt of Vindex in Gaule, Galba and Otho in Spain. Nero is declared a public enemy by the Senate. He committed suicide on June 9 so as not to fall alive into the hands of his enemies..
