Si le Gadoury ne référençait pas ce piéfort comme étant en argent et si le poids de notre exemplaire n’était pas différent du double du double poids d’une deux francs nickel normale, nous dirions que notre exemplaire est fait d’un alliage de nickel et certainement pas en argent. Il n’a absolument pas l’aspect d’une frappe en argent mais n’est pas magnétique, donc pas en nickel pur. Un mystère de plus. Cet exemplaire provient de la collection Bernard Bachelet.
If the Gadoury did not list this Piéfort as silver and if the weight of our example was not different from twice the weight of a normal two-franc nickel, we would say that our example is made of a nickel alloy and certainly not silver.
