Le portrait figurant sur l’avers est celui du seigneur Lucien Ier Grimaldi (1481-1523) est une reproduction de celui qui est exposé au Palais princier de Monaco.
En 1512 le roi de France reconnut la souveraineté pleine et entière du seigneur de Monaco

Official numbered insert containing the commemorative 2 Euro coin struck on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the founding of Monegasque sovereignty and the 0.55 Euro stamp issued in 2012 on the same theme. Insert issued during the annual Monegasque stock exchange on 1 and 2 December 2012. The portrait on the obverse is that of Lord Lucien I Grimaldi (1481-1523) and is a reproduction of the one on display at the Prince's Palace of Monaco. In 1512 the King of France recognized the full sovereignty of the Lord of Monaco
