Commentary
Ce type de revers fut utilisé cette année-là pour le Conseil, les Parties Casuelles et les Menus-Plaisirs. Sans vouloir contester le grand Feuardent, nous pensons que le lion tient une balance et non une paire de cymbales. Il est probable que l’exemplaire de Feuardent était dans un tel état que ces objets n’étaient plus distincts.
This type of reverse was used that year for the Council, the Casual Parties and the Menus-Plaisirs. Without wishing to dispute the great Feuardent, we believe that the lion is holding a pair of scales and not a pair of cymbals. It is likely that the Feuardent copy was in such a state that these objects were no longer distinct.
