Exemplaire su un flan large et irrégulier, bien centré avec les grènetisi visibles. Beau buste. Frappe un peu trèflée au revers. Patine marron foncé

MAURICIUS TIBERIUS

(08/13/582-11/22/602)

Maurice succeeded his father-in-law Tiberius II. After great victories over the Sassanids, he suffered many setbacks in the Balkans and could not prevent the installation of the Slavs and Avars. A military plot overthrew him in 602. He was assassinated while trying to take refuge with Chosroes II.
