Obverse description : Buste casqué, diadémé avec pendilia, drapé et cuirassé de Maurice Tibère de face, tenant le globe crucigère de la main droite et le bouclier orné de la main gauche.

Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Mauricius Tiberius ”, (Notre seigneur Maurice Tibère).

Commentary

Poids léger. Au droit, nous avons deux types d’ornementation sur le diadème, une croix ou trèfle trifolié et deux types de bustes bien différents, le premier grossier et le second fin. Notre exemplaire appartient au premier groupe. Ce type semble plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.
Lightweight. On the obverse, we have two types of ornamentation on the diadem, a cross or trifoliate clover and two very different types of busts, the first coarse and the second fine. Our example belongs to the first group. This type seems rarer than general works suggest
