Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais, légèrement échancré à deux heures au revers, bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait à l’usure régulière. Revers bien venu. Patine vert foncé

MAURICIUS TIBERIUS

Maurice succeeded his father-in-law Tiberius II. After great victories over the Sassanids, he suffered many setbacks in the Balkans and could not prevent the installation of the Slavs and Avars. A military plot overthrew him in 602. He was assassinated while trying to take refuge with Chosroes II.
