Juba I was defeated at Thapsus in 46 BC, but his son, Juba II (50 AC -. 23 AD), raised by Octavia, became a friend of Augustus, who gave him the province of Mauretania 25 BC Cleopatra Selene, daughter of Cleopatra and Mark Antony, was spared by Octavian in 30 BC when it was put to death Ptolemy XV (Caesarion).
