Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale, bien centré des deux côtés, un peu court au droit sur une belle tête d’Héraklès. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Jolie patine de collection ancienne

Nous n’avons pas pu établir clairement à quel roi exactement pouvait être attribué ce tetartemorion, peut-être Areopus (398/397 - 395-394 avant J.-C.).

MACEDONIA - MACEDONIAN KINGDOM

(5th - 4th century BC)

Between Alexander I and Philip II, Macedonia experienced significant territorial expansion. It had to win against its Thracian and Greek neighbors. Pella replaced Aegae as the capital. The Macedonian monarchs, often philhellenes were often the arbiters in the fights which opposed the Greeks to the Persians, then the Greeks between them. Finally Philip II ends up imposing his hegemony on the Greeks after the battle of Chaeronea.
