Reverse description : Zeus aétophore assis sur un siège sans dossier, nu jusqu'à la ceinture, les jambes parallèles, tenant un aigle posé sur sa main droite et un long sceptre bouleté de la gauche ; dans le champ à gauche, un terme itypahllique à gauche.
Reverse legend : ALEXANDROU.

(336-323 BC)

Coining the name and type of Alexander III the Great

Alexander III the Great was the son of Philip II of Macedonia and Olympias. He was born in 356 BC, when the horses Philippe triumphant Olympics. On the death of his father, who was assassinated in 336 BC, he became king of Macedonia in twenty years. He got on the Thebans and shaves the city which had revolted. In 334 BC, he cut in Asia, after the victory of Granicus, participated in the conquest of the Achaemenid empire, which led him to Persepolis, and the gates of India. Return to Babylon in 325 he married Roxane giving him a son. Two years later, he died without completing his work, thirty-three years.
