Obverse description : Écu de forme échancrée aux armes d'Alexis-Antoine Regny posé sur un cartouche orné de guirlandes de fleurs et timbré d’une couronne de comte.

Reverse


Reverse description : Écusson ovale aux armes de la Ville, placé sur un cartouche, soutenu par les figures allégoriques nues et assises du Rhône et de la Saône laissant échapper l’eau de leurs urnes, à la grande coquille.

Commentary


Alexis-Antoine Regny porte de gueules au lion d’or au chef d’azur soutenu d’or et chargé d’une couronne royale du même. Il est le fils d’Aimé et de Marie-Anne Moyroud, né en 1749 à Gênes où son père était consul. Il est recteur de l’Hôtel-Dieu puis trésorier et receveur de la ville. Il meurt à Lyon en 1816. Selon Tricou, il reçoit 120 jetons en argent en 1785 comme trésorier et 120 autres en 1789.
