Exemplaire sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait expressif. Joli revers de style fin avec une usure superficielle sur Hercule. Patine vert noir

Obverse description : Buste lauré et drapé du Sénat à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A*01).

Reverse description : Héraklès nu debout de face, la tête tournée à gauche, appuyé de la main droite sur sa massue, tenant la léonté enroulée autour du bras gauche.

Commentary


Pour ce type, les auteurs du Roman Provincial Coinage en ligne (RPC.) ont recensé dix-huit exemplaires avec un poids moyen de 4,72 g et l’exemplaire du British Museum pèse 5,93 g. Le diamètre moyen est de 20 mm et l’axe des coins est varié avec une dominante à 6 heures. Nous n’avons pas relevé d’identité de coin pertinente. Une datation relative est donnée pour ce type entre la fin du règne de Marc Aurèle et celui d’Alexandre Sévère.
