LORRAINE - VERDUN - NICOLAS BOUSMARD

(1576-1584)

Bousmard Nicolas, Bishop of Verdun from 1576 to 1584, was born in 1512 in Xivry-le-Franc (successor of Bishop Nicolas Psaulme, died at Verdun August 9, 1575). Jean Bousmard was mayeur Circourt, then a lawyer at the bailiwick of Saint-Mihiel, and special lieutenant and lieutenant general for 14 years the Bailiwick of Apremont. He was knighted in 1564. His mother was Alix Collinet Malmaison, Anjou family settled in Lorraine, whose liege man was François Collinet Malmaison whose nobility of his father, Jean Collinet Malmaison, was confirmed on March 10, 1455, see http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xivry-Circourt.
