Reverse description : Ajax, fils d’Oilée nu, combattant à droite, coiffé d’un casque, tenant un bouclier de la main gauche et une épée courte de la main droite ; le bouclier est orné d’un serpent ; entre les jambes du héros, haut de casque tourné à droite (plumet).

Au revers, entre les jambes, il s’agit du plumet qui vient se placer au-dessus du casque.

LOCRIS - OPUS
(369-338 BC)
Oponte was the capital of Opontian Locrid. It was said to have been founded by Opous. It was the homeland of Patroclus and Ajax, son of Oileus. The Opontians fought with Leonidas at Thermopylae. The Locrians experienced their greatest expansion from the Peace of Antalcidas in 386 BC. After Philip II's victory at Chaeronea in 338 BC, the Locrians fell under Macedonian rule.
