Languedoc - Vicomte D'ALBI - ANONYMOUS

(Twelfth century)

The reverse some money Albi could evoke pariage that existed between the count and the bishop of Albi. Pons had taxable income of the Mint when he married Majore Carcassonne. Mint may be directly inspired by the denier of Raymond Pons, Count of Toulouse in the tenth century. The mint is impoverished in 1212 after the beginning of the crusade against the Albigensians. The papal legate had settled in Albi to fight against heresy. The city became part of the kingdom in 1249.
