Exemplaire sur un flan large et irrégulier. Beau portrait massif et stylisé. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Usure importante, mais parfaitement lisible et identifiable. Jolie patine épaisse vert foncé

Poids léger. Au revers les étoiles encadrant le M ont la forme de deux sceaux de Salomon.

Justin I, illiterate of Macedonian origin, was a brilliant military leader under the reigns of Zeno and Anastasius. At the time of his accession, he was commander-in-chief of the "excubitores" (guards) of Constantinople. He succeeded Anastasius and associated his nephew Justinian with power, who became co-emperor on April 4, 527. Justin died on the following August 1.
