Exemplaire sur un petit flan centré des deux côtés. Exemplaire très intéressant, présentant une trace de surfrappe de chaque côté. Jolie patine vert foncé

Poids très léger. Follis anonyme (classe A). Trace de surfrappe. Les bras de la croix sont ornés de croisettes cantonnées de deux globules.

John I succeeded Nicephorus II Phocas who had been assassinated at the instigation of John and Theophano, the second wife of Nicephorus. John, a great general, triumphed over the Bulgarians in 971. He began a brilliant campaign in Palestine, but died of typhoid.
