(1423-1457)

Francesco Foscari was elected at the age of 49 on April 15, 1423 in preference to Admiral Pietro Loredano. Thanks to him the Republic of Venice knows its longest reign, more than 34 years, as well as the greatest territorial expansion of its history, bringing together under a single legislation all Veneto and Friuli.
