Commentary

Aigle et étoile en bronze doré ciselé, à branches émaillées rouges, sur ruban bleu.
Concernant cet ordre, il sera institué en 1808 par Joseph BONAPARTE. Il était composé de 650 chevaliers, 100 commandeurs et 50 dignitaires. A l’arrivée de Joachim Murat sur le trône, la légende de l’insigne est changée, puis le profil du Roi remplacera la Trinacrie. L’ordre ne sera pas aboli à la chute du Roi Murat en 1815 mais disparaîtra en 1819.
Eagle and star in chiseled gilt bronze, with red enameled branches, on a blue ribbon. Concerning this order, it was established in 1808 by Joseph BONAPARTE. It was composed of 650 knights, 100 commanders and 50 dignitaries. Upon the arrival of Joachim Murat on the throne, the legend of the insignia was changed, then the profile of the King replaced the Trinacria. The order was not abolished upon the fall of King Murat in 1815 but disappeared in 1819
