After the premature death and without legitimate descendants of Guillaume II the Good then king of Sicily, the Sicilian-Norman kingdom must face serious problems of succession. Henri de Hohenstaufen, defeats Tancred, then pretender to the crown and is crowned on December 25, 1194.
