La marque placée au revers (dauphin ou poisson) est le symbole du magistrat monétaire Aldobrandino di Lapo di Tanaglia qui permet de dater la frappe de cette monnaie de l’année 1341. Les florins d'or furent d'abord frappés sur des flans étroits entre 1252 et 1452, puis ensuite, toujours avec un poids identique, sur des flans plus fins et plus larges.

The gold florins were first struck on narrow flans between 1252 and 1452, then later, always with the same weight, on thinner and wider flans
