Exemplaire sur un flan ovale bien centré. Frappe molle au droit sur la tête d’Apollon. Joli revers, de style bien venu à la frappe. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

IONIA - MILETUS
(4th century BC)
Miletus, founded in the 12th century BC, had been the seat of the Ionian Confederation. During the War of Liberation, it was crushed in 494 BC. Its cult of Apollo was renowned throughout Asia Minor. Its settlers founded, among others, the colonies of Abydos, Cyzicus, Sinope and Panticapaeum.
