Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier bien centré. Très beau portrait d’Artémis. Revers de style fin. Très belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets mordorés

Magnesia had been founded by the Magnetes, originating from Thessaly. The city, bathing at the foot of the Meander, was famous for its temple of Artemis Leucophyrene, built by Hermogenes around 190 BC and whose remains can still be admired today..
