Très bel exemplaire sur un flan large, légèrement décentré. Superbe revers finement détaillé. La monnaie a conservé son coupant. Patine grise avec de légers reflets dorés

Illyria - Apollonia

(III - II century BC)

Apollonia was a colony of Corcyra, itself a colony of Corinth. The city first undergoes the Corinthian influence. It then fell under Roman protectorate from 229 BC From 100 BC, it supplanted Dyrrachium and replaced. The city was famous for the quality of its higher education. Octave, student, was at Apollonia when Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC.
